WELCOME!

You are invited to participate in the discussion of the weekly Adult Sabbath School Lesson.

Despite the challenging times that we live, let us press along in faith, knowing that God's in control and making the necessary provisions for us to continue studying His Word as a church body.

The Adult Sabbath School Class is being held virtually beginning at 10 a.m. every Sabbath.

SABBATH SCHOOL STUDY

From its inception Sabbath School has focused on four emphases that are still prominent to this day: fellowship development, community outreach, Bible study, and foreign mission. A solid balance of these elements characterizes the most vital Sabbath Schools around the world.

Based on these four emphases, from its beginning in 1853, Sabbath School membership has exploded from a handful of believers in upstate New York to an estimated 14 million today.

“Sabbath School is one of the most important parts of Sabbath. It gives us the opportunity for fellowship, mission understanding, outreach and one of the greatest parts, Bible study and discussion. What a privilege to be able to study our Bible and the Adult Bible Study Guide in a small group setting and make the wonderful biblical instructions practical for our spiritual experience the next week. No one should miss Sabbath School!”—Ted N C Wilson, president, General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

We offer the following types of classes from which to choose from.  So, come and find one that you can contribute to and receive a blessing.

CHILDREN'S CLASSES

Each Sabbath morning starting at 10:00 AM, the Old Westbury SDA Church has Children's Sabbath schools for each age group.  We welcome children to an hour of active learning geared to their stage of faith development. These classes provide faith-shaping experiences for newborns through adolescents.

This Bible study curriculum is based on a four-year cycle. Each year the lessons draw on Bible stories in chronological order from Genesis to Revelation. The lessons are designed for Juniors and Early Teens to incorporate in their daily Bible study. The lessons provide the basis for learning and discussion in the Junior/Early Teens Sabbath School class. Each lesson is based on a Bible story or scriptural passage, and each one includes questions for discussion and supporting texts that highlight Bible principles, helping the young learners draw lessons for application.
